Pep Guardiola‘s Premier League champions will play the Catalan giants at the Camping World Stadium, Orlando in the latest match on our 2024 USA Tour with the action getting underway at 19.00 (EDT) on Tuesday, 30 July, midnight Wednesday, 31 July (UK).
Fans in selected countries can watch the game live on mancity.com and our official app, as long as they’re subscribed to CITY+.
It’s the third match on our Stateside tour after narrow losses to Celtic (4-3) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina which was followed by a 3-2 defeat to AC Milan at New York’s iconic Yankee Stadium at the weekend.
Now, we’re in the Sunshine State and ready to lock horns with another of European football’s iconic clubs.
City and Barcelona are no strangers of course.
We have met three times in the UEFA Champions League, Barca emerging victorious in round of 16 meetings in both 2013/14 and 2014/15.
However, after a group stage loss at the Nou Camp in the 2016/17 campaign, City more than gained revenge courtesy of a memorable 3-1 Etihad win in what was Pep Guardiola’s first season in charge.
More recently we met in August 2022 in a charity friendly at the Nou Camp which ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
The game saw the two sides raise money to aid research into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in aid of the Luzon Foundation, organised in honour of former Barca keeper Juan Carlos Unzue who was diagnosed with ALS in 2020.
Now, two of the game’s true heavyweights prepare to lock horns once more in what should be a thrilling encounter.
