Bernardo Silva says the City squad is fine shape ahead of Saturday's UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Lyon.

The Portuguese midfielder took time out from our training schedule over in Lisbon, where the squad are preparing for the unprecedented mini-tournament that will decide the winner of this season’s competition after it was halted by the global health pandemic.

The squad landed on Monday and have trained at the Portugal national team’s training headquaters, which Bernardo knows well.

And he believes the squad are in excellent condition after beating Real Madrid in the last-16.

“Everyone is fit and super motivated - we couldn’t be better to be honest,” he said.

“Beating Madrid gives you a boost in terms confidence.

“You don’t need motivation for these games – it’s the quarter-final of Champions League, we are fighting for a huge thing.

“Everyone is focused to do their best and help the team.”
