Bernardo reserved special praise after the game for the loud and proud City fans.

“They were unbelievable. They always are when we need them,” he said.

“They know how tough this competition is. And they know how frustrating it has been over the last few years, to not achieve what we want in this competition. They’ve been with us, they’re always with us.

“A massive thank you to them. And once again they showed their appreciation to us, the players, the staff, the team.

“We’re so happy to give them back this opportunity to be in the final.

“Hopefully, this year we can change the outcome of what happened two years ago.”
