Bernardo Silva expressed his satisfaction with his current form after delivering another impressive display in Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Burnley.

The Portuguese midfielder, who made a strong start to the new season, opened the scoring in a man of the match display at the Etihad Stadium, where Kevin De Bruyne was also on target.

Pep Guardiola’s men were made to work hard for the three points, but Bernardo, who won September’s Etihad Player of the Month, was happy to make a positive start to what will be a busy period for the defending Premier League champions.

“It’s never easy to win right after everyone comes back but it’s a good win,” he said.

“I’m happy that I’m helping the team, happy with the momentum but it’s just the beginning, we’re still in October.

“We need to keep going, try to go top of the league, try to qualify for the next stage of the Champions League, it’s the beginning but we are doing well.”

Silva also spoke about facing the physical battle Burnley posed, his great link-up with Joao Cancelo and his thoughts ahead of a busy Autumn schedule.
