It’s the fifth season in a row that Pep Guardiola’s side have been drawn against the Spanish giants in Europe’s blue chip competition.
However, it will be a radically different looking City that will step out at the Bernabeu this time round compared to all those previous meetings.
And for Bernardo, who has experienced every kind of emotion against Real down the years, it will be the ideal barometer of the side’s progress and development.
“It’s one more game where we’re going to try to be the best version of ourselves and add another three points to be in the top eight. That’s our main goal,” the skipper said at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.
“We know how special it is to be in this stadium. I’m more used to it.
“We seem to draw them every year; it’s like a league game now.
“It’s definitely a very good test to come here and play in this environment and should be a fun game tomorrow.
“I really believe the team is prepared to perform well and get the three points.”
