The teenager was handed his full City debut by manager Enzo Maresca, as Erling Haaland’s second-half brace made it four wins from four across all competitions this season.
However, the first 45 minutes saw City denied on multiple occasions by Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa as it looked like being one of those nights where the ball would just not cross the line.

But Maresca’s men remained calm, composed and patient to overcome the Portuguese champions in the second period.
Bouaddi was pleased with the perfect start to the League Phase and highlighted the team’s patience as the key factor in the victory.
“In this game we had to be patient, we were patient,” he said in his interview with City Studios after the game. “They’re a really good team, Porto.
“We were patient, we played our game, and everything happened well so we are happy.
“It’s really important to start well. That’s what matters in this league. That’s what we did.
“We’re really happy and proud and want to keep going like this.”
Bouaddi also spoke about the remarkable goalscoring exploits of Haaland and revealed exactly why he is so cool and calm on the pitch.
