As for the match itself, Julian Alvarez prodded home to open the scoring on 15 minutes.
Haaland bagged our second on 29 minutes with a close-range finish while Foden – who assisted Haaland’s earlier goal – hit the third following a stray pass into him by Philip Billing.

Chris Mepham scored an own-goal after an Alvarez shot cannoned in off him on 51 minutes.
Jefferson Lerma scored a consolation for the hosts on 83 minutes but we returned to the Etihad Stadium with a maximum haul to keep the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.
