16-year-old Kaden Braithwaite was left elated, overjoyed and thrilled after making his first-team debut in the 2-1 Carabao Cup third round victory over Watford.

The teenage defender was amongst nine changes that manager Pep Guardiola made to his team following last Sunday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Fellow Academy graduates Phil Foden, Rico Lewis, James McAtee and Nico O’Reilly all came into the team, with Jacob Wright also featuring off the bench.

“They were in the crowd, I don’t even know where they were but they were there supporting. I think they’ll be proud more than anything.

“Obviously, my dad majority just taking me to training. And my mum has always been there cheering and supporting on the sidelines.

“They’ll just be buzzing. I just took it in my stride.”
