City started the game against Brentford with seven changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Brighton in midweek.
The home side,, hoping to finish seventh and claim a Europa Conference spot, came into the game in fine form, and this was never going to be easy for the Premier League champions.
What followed was a competitive, if not thrilling contest.
In a game of few chances, Cole Palmer had City’s best opportunities.
But it was Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock who scored the only goal of the game on 85 minutes to end our 25-match unbeaten run.
