Erling Haaland claimed a brace of goals with Rodrigo also on target as the champions got our title defence off to an impressive start with a 3-0 win away at Burnley.
Fresh from his incredible 52-goal haul last term, Haaland picked up from where he left off by firing City ahead at Turf Moor inside four minutes.
The Norwegian then doubled his and City’s tally with a brilliant instinctive finish eight minutes before the break.
Victory was then sealed 15 minutes from time as Rodrigo fired home from close range.
Recent signing Josko Gvardiol came on as a late substitute to make his City debut on a night where the only downside was a first half injury to Kevin De Bruyne.
