Omar Marmoush says he’s trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible from his team-mates and coaches at City.

The Egyptian forward was our Man of the Match in a pulsating 2-2 home draw with Brighton on Saturday, winning a penalty that Erling Haaland converted before scoring a goal himself from outside the box.

That first-half finish marked his fourth City strike since arriving at the Club after an eye-catching hat-trick against Newcastle United last month.

Speaking after the game, Marmoush reflected on how he’s adapted since moving to the Etihad Stadium.

“The players and the staff are amazing here,” he said.

“I’m just trying to learn everything that I can and listen to the coach and everything that he tells us.

“I scored the goal today but in the end it wasn’t enough for the three points so it’s not the best feeling. We’ll keep going.”

The result leaves City fifth in the Premier League with 48 points from 29 games.

With a host of the clubs challenging for next season’s Champions League places, Marmoush says City are determined to finish strongly and qualify for next season’s competition.

“It’s a challenge but we will do everything,” he said.

“We will put our head down and try to work as hard as we can. Always when we’re on pitch give 100% and hopefully in the end we will secure that place.

“We have to try show our quality more, have more confidence on the ball, keep the ball more and just do what Manchester City always did.”

As the match also represented our annual City in the Community takeover, Marmoush ended the interview by fielding a question from one lucky participant.
