Pep Guardiola says his players are in the perfect frame of mind for the challenges of the next five weeks.

The Blues have six Premier League games remaining and take on Southampton this weekend in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

But with a fascinating title race now in the final strait and the possibility of a fourth successive FA Cup final on the horizon, the boss says his players are not feeling any pressure – far from it, in fact.

Asked if his team was nervous at his Tuesday pre-Burnley press conference, Pep said: “Nervous was last season. Pressure was last season. That was pressure to bring a team not in the Champions League.

“Now, [we are] more relaxed than ever and the feeling that we have done a really good season.

“Now we will enjoy every game. The message is so clear. It’s not even a message, it’s clear. Last season, Fulham away. The night before was tough.

“Now we have done it, won the Carabao Cup and have the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley and we will try to fight to win the Premier League.

“That’s why I’m a manager to live these moments.”
