Carlos Tevez says he received a warm welcome from his Manchester City team-mates when he returned to training after a three-month absence during the 2011/12 Premier League title-winning campaign.

After falling out with Roberto Mancini during City’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich in September of that season, Tevez left for Argentina and missed 35 games before returning in February.

The striker issued an apology ahead of his reintegration into the first team squad and, in a recent interview for a documentary celebrating the 10th anniversary of 93:20, he admitted he had no problems with his team-mates once he rejoined the group.

“Really good,” he said when asked about the welcome he received.

“Really good because the vast majority knew me and knew what I brought to the team so it was always a good one.

“After being champions, or after the first match back with some goals, I felt important again and that’s the most important part for the club.

“And for my team-mates, for me, Mancini and everybody.”
