Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak says everyone at Manchester City has learned lessons from the 2024/25 season.

After unprecedented success for our men’s team in recent years, this campaign proved trickier with injury issues and a loss of form through the winter hampering our challenge for a record fifth successive Premier League title.

Instead, a third-place finish ensured Champions League football next season for the 15th year in a row, while we also reached a third straight FA Cup final.

Speaking in his traditional end-of-season interview in Abu Dhabi this week, the Chairman acknowledged that we haven’t matched the levels we’ve become accustomed to.

However, he made it clear that all at the Club will use the experience to help us to future success.

“To end up where we’ve ended up is not anywhere near the aspirations that we’ve had and not anywhere near the high bar we’ve set upon ourselves,” he began.

“But it’s okay. It’s a lot of lessons learned, a lot of experiences that we will never forget and a lot of challenges that we’ve never dealt with personally, professionally, over these last 17 years combined.

“The culmination of that is an experience that I believe will be invaluable for us going forward.”
