Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on his Chelsea counterpart, Thomas Tuchel, ahead of this Saturday's potential title-winning clash.

Victory against the Londoners would be enough to secure a third Premier League title in four years, but we will need to be at our best to make that ambition a reality.

Not only do the visitors travel north hoping to cement their claim on a top four spot, our showdown under the Etihad lights acts as a precursor to this season’s Champions League final.

And ahead of our Premier League encounter, Guardiola doffed his cap to both the job that Tuchel has done in his managerial career so far and the way his Chelsea team currently operate under his guidance.

“I have a lot of respect for Thomas,” he revealed in his pre-match press conference.

“He has been in Mainz, Dortmund, PSG and now here, in every place he has been he has always done really well and the teams are always a joy to watch.

“I have not been working with him so I don’t know [what he does], but he has always done really well.

“I am not surprised and huge compliments for what they have done so far.”
