The event was organised to demonstrate and showcase the important work CITC is doing to empower healthier lives through football, as well as help to create advocates across Greater Manchester for the charity.
New stakeholders, business leaders and prospective funders were invited to the City Football Academy, where they were able to explore session stations to find out more about CITC departments, programmes, its participants and staff.
Guests started the day with a presentation from members of City in the Community’s leadership team, as well as hearing from participants about their experiences with the charity.
They were then taken on a tour around the Joie Stadium pitch and City Football Academy facilities, to experience several practical and classroom sessions in action.
The showcase also included interactive stands from the charity’s business departments – such as Impact and Quality, Partnerships, Communication and Engagement - showcasing the teams behind-the-scenes.
Commenting on the success of the event, CEO, Michael Geary, said: “This year’s CITC Showcase Event has once again provided a great opportunity for us to highlight the incredible work we deliver across Manchester on a daily basis.
“Unlike in previous years, this event focused on encouraging and inspiring new potential stakeholders to engage with CITC’s work. We’ve been able to raise awareness of the impact our programmes are having on participants across the city, bringing everyone together to celebrate everything that CITC stands for.
“It’s given us the opportunity to spotlight our strategy for future stakeholders and to demonstrate the true meaningful authentic impact we’re having on the participants we work with across Manchester each day.”
Jason Heard from Movember who attended the event commented: “It’s been amazing to see the breadth of programmes that City in the Community provide.
“To see the amount of impact they are having, reaching over 17,000 participants, is incredible.”
