Manchester City, its fans, and staff, have teamed up to support young people in Manchester through the Club’s festive campaign, ‘Christmas, Together’.

‘Christmas, Together’ included gift giving, community events and fundraising, has so far raised a total of £165,000 and counting.

Funds raised will support City in the Community’s ‘City Onside’ programme, which is delivered at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. The year-round initiative will reach over 250 families and young people, uplifting physical and mental health.

Since early November, the Club has been donating £5 to its charity, City in the Community, for every purchase a fan makes from a range of Christmas retail items.

Alongside this, the Club has been matching donations made by fans and staff to City in the Community (with the overall MCFC donation reaching £75,000*).

The Club has also continued its support of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House through the donation of more than 1,300 gifts, funded by the men’s squad, to children staying in the hospital over the festive period.

Players from both the men’s and women’s first teams handed out the gift bags in person when they surprised young patients with a visit earlier this month.

Other men’s players, including Rodri, John Stones and Phil Foden, made festive surprises with local primary school children at a City in the Community Winter Wonderland event.

Ruben Dias also made an additional surprise visit to one nine-year-old fan, who spent prolonged time in intensive care following a stroke in July 2025.

Elsewhere this Christmas, City in the Community has been supporting local people with a calendar of free events at the Etihad Campus, as well as helping Manchester-based organisations and foodbanks through donations and volunteering, including support from City’s EDS and U18s squads.

Erling Haaland, who visited the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital alongside his teammates, said: “Visiting the children and their families was really special.

“Moments like that put everything into perspective and remind you what matters most.

“Seeing the smiles, especially in such a difficult situation, meant a lot.

“We’re proud to support City in the Community and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, and hopefully the gifts and the time we spent together brought a bit of joy at Christmas.”

Danny Wilson, Managing Director of Manchester City Operations and a City in the Community Trustee, said: “We’re incredibly proud of how the Manchester City family has come together through our ‘Christmas, Together’ campaign.

“The generosity of our fans, staff and players has helped us raise vital funds that will make a meaningful difference to young people receiving care at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

“Supporting our community is at the heart of what this Club stands for, and it’s inspiring to see so many people celebrate that purpose during the festive season. We’re grateful to everyone who has contributed and proud to continue to strengthen our commitment to Manchester.”

Fans who deserve an unforgettable treat this Christmas have also enjoyed a series of surprise-and-delight activities, organised as part of the Club’s annual Cityzens Christmas Surprise campaign.

This year’s surprises included a player home visit with Matheus Nunes and Tijjani Reijnders, as well as personalised virtual meet-and-greets and bespoke festive messages for nominated fans around the world.

The ‘Christmas, Together’ campaign is live until Wednesday December 31, meaning fans can still make donations to top-up the total.
