In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, City in the Community teamed up with the WeLoveMCR Charity and the Premier League to help distribute a variety of vital resources to children across the city.

To date, more than 4,000 printed resource packs have been delivered to children aged between 2 and 16 including educational activities, family activities, fun games and physical activity challenges.

In addition, 8,000 hand hygiene products (2 per household) were also delivered with the resource packs.

Furthermore, 7,300 reading books were delivered to children’s homes providing every year 6 pupil in Manchester with a reading book from the national curriculum reading list as advised by The National Literacy Trust.

CITC have been indebted to the support of Manchester City Council in ensuring young people received the support they needed.

An additional 5,000 books were donated by CITC’s partner – musicMagpie - which were distributed across Manchester via our network of charity partners and youth organisations.

CITC also created a £30k technology fund, via the support of Curry’s/Carphone Warehouse to support young carers across Manchester with the technology they needed to stay connected with friends and family, access online lessons, complete school/ college work and any other online requirements.
