To celebrate the 2025 festive season, Manchester City’s charity, City in the Community (CITC), hosted a variety of Christmas parties for its participants across Greater Manchester.

The parties, which were held at the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy, aim to spread Christmas cheer by bringing people together from around the community.

At the Mancunian in the Etihad Stadium, over 80 CITC participants got together for an afternoon of Christmas celebrations at the Senior Christmas party.

Participants from ReminisCITY and Walking Football were joined by CITC Life President and former Man City goalkeeper, Alex Williams, as well as former City player Peter Barnes, as they enjoyed a Christmas meal followed by a festive dance.

Meanwhile, over at City Football Academy, CITC’s youngest participants were getting involved in the Christmas fun at the City Play Together Christmas.

Santa and Moonbeam even made a special Christmas appearance, getting involved in pass the parcel and musical statues with the City Play Together families.

One parent commented on the party, saying: “It was an incredible party, there were so many activities for the children to get involved in, including meeting Santa. We all loved it.”

The Disability Disco saw 150 participants get involved in the festivities.

Participants from ‘One City’ and ‘One City Schools’ partied with Santa and Moonchester, and even had a special visit from Manchester City Women’s manager Andrée Jeglertz and City star, Kerolin.

Students from local primary schools across Manchester attended the Winter Wonderland Christmas party which saw participants get together for some festive fun and games.

From football darts to Zorb football, City Football academy was full of fun actives for all to enjoy, including Moonbeam and Moonchester.

Fundraising and Events Officers, Sophie Payne, commented on the impact of this year’s four parities and events, saying: “It has been an amazing couple of weeks, and we have an amazing team of people who made this possible.

“It has been fantastic for all of our participants to come here to the amazing facilities and great that we can share it with them this Christmas.”
