The short film features participants, teachers and CITC coaches, who all provide an insight into how Premier League Primary school sessions are making a difference in and around Manchester.
CITC’s Premier League Primary Stars programme deliver to five to 11-year-olds across Greater Manchester, with the aim of upskilling teachers around delivering PE and school sport.
CITC coaches also work with pupils to build on their physical and social development.
The programme also delivers education workshops on topics such as anti-bullying and anti-racism throughout the year.
Coaches work closely with teachers to ensure they feel comfortable to deliver a subject that they may not do otherwise.
Year One teacher, Emer O’Neil, said: “I have been shown an assessment protocol that has allowed me to assess my pupils in the correct way.”
One participant added: “I like how they support up and teach us new things that we didn’t know before.”
PE Lead, and Year Three and Four teacher Sam Holden said: “We’ve had a huge benefit from CITC and the Primary Stars programme over the last two years.
“We’ve had some fantastic coaches deliver some amazing PE sessions.”
Coaches are able to adapt their approach, the content and physical activity sessions in order to best meet the requirements of the school/group that they are working with.
