Manchester City is once again celebrating its charity, City in the Community (CITC), at Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Brentford.

Each year, CITC offers exclusive experiences to its participants, such as being mascots and shadowing the Manchester City media team.

This year, City Primary Stars participants from Webster Primary School were tasked with drawing the Manchester City squad to be used as matchday assets.

On the day of the takeover, the participants artwork will be brought to life through graphics used in and around the Etihad Stadium, as well as across social media.

City Primary Stars participant, Zubair, spoke about what it meant to him to be part of this year’s project, saying: “I’m so excited to be a part of this because our drawings are going to be up on the big screens, which is great because I’m a really big Manchester City fan.

“I can’t wait to see our artwork come to life on the community matchday.”

Webster Primary School teacher, Miss Worthington, spoke about what this opportunity meant to them: “The children really enjoyed this opportunity.

“It was a day filled with colour, laughter, and pride, and the children really came together to celebrate their community through art.

“Each drawing told a story of connection, creativity, and their shared love for City in the Community.

“We are all looking forward to hearing what the players thought of their drawings.”

The Premier League Primary Stars programme is delivered in City in the Community partner schools across Greater Manchester, engaging pupils and teachers to help primary school children stay active.

During the sessions, the coaches deliver national curriculum PE lessons, extra-curricular activities, targeted interventions, educational workshops and more.

With thanks to the Premier League for support of the Primary Stars programme.
