City in the Community (CITC) is delighted to have launched a new promotional video for its City Play Together programme.

The short film features participants, parents and CITC coaches, who all provide an insight into how City Play Together sessions are making a difference in Greater Manchester.

CITC’s City Play Together programme supports two-to-five-year-olds across the city, helping families and their children to take part in physical activity together.

Early Years Manager, Lois Daniels, said: “City Play Together is a unique part of our provision. It allows us to have a measurable and tangible impact on healthy communities across Manchester.

“Through our sessions, we upskill parents and carers around how to engage with their child(ren) at home using innovative and inclusive ideas.

“Our curriculum design is tailored to be a targeted intervention to have a greater impact on not just physical and mental wellbeing of the parents and children, but also allowing the parents to feel inspired and engaged, and hopefully to develop their skills, confidence and self-esteem when going home and interacting with their child.

“Within our delivery, we also invite the families into our world-class facilities, to help bring people within the local community together within a safe, inspiring, and welcoming environment.”

Current sessions are being delivered in Youth Zones and Sure Start Centres across Manchester.
