Both Cherki and Haaland also struck the woodwork with Eberechi Eze and Gabriel hitting the post for the Gunners.
But City were not to be denied and it was Haaland who made the difference, the striker firing home a superb 65th minute effort to secure victory and further boost City’s push for the league title,
