A late second-half Erling Haaland brace set the seal on a fine afternoon’s work from Pep Guardiola’s side as City moved up into the top five in the Premier League table.
An early Maxime Esteve own goal had given City the lead only for the visitors to draw level seven minutes before the breakthrough Jaidon Anthony.
City were not to be denied though and we restored our advantage just past the hour through a Matheus Nunes strike before another Esteve own goal further extended our lead.
And with time almost up, Haaland took centre stage bagging two goals in four minutes to move into the top ten of City’s all-time scorers and also overtake Ole Gunnar Solkskjaer as the leading Norwegian scorer in the Premier League.
Erling now has 133 City goals overall and 93 in the Premier League alone. Truly remarkable stats for a truly remarkable player.
