Manchester City defender John Stones has expressed his pride at helping the team to another clean sheet during the 2-0 Premier League victory over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola‘s men kept our fourth successive clean sheet in all competitions and secured back-to-back Premier League wins at home, propelled to victory by Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne.

Stones lined up alongside summer-signing Ruben Dias and was proud of the display against a dangerous Fulham attack.

“Everyone on the pitch today put a shift in and done the bit to get the three points,” he said. “The clean sheets keep coming and it’s something that we really pride ourselves on at the back.

“It starts from the top I suppose, with the pressing and winning the ball back high up the pitch. A great day all round.”

Sterling got his name on the scoresheet after a run of matches without finding the net, set up by De Bruyne and Stones was pleased for his teammates.

“It’s great to have them firing. I’m sure they’re enjoying their football. It’s great to see Raheem back on the scoresheet, getting chances and scoring goals, that’s what his game is all about.”

The defender also spoke about his happiness to be back playing after multiple injury setbacks, the importance of momentum and Guardiola‘s 700 game landmark.
