Pep Guardiola is hoping to see a better overall display from his players against Norwich City on Saturday following last weekend's setback against Tottenham Hotspur.

The defending Premier League champions were beaten 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the team’s opening fixture of the 2021/22 league campaign.

City host newly-promoted Norwich at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow afternoon and Guardiola is hoping to see an improved performance from his side.

“We have to play 37 games. I cannot deny we would prefer to have three points. Tomorrow we have a challenge to win our first three, we have to start winning games, we will try,” he said. “We want to be close to the top of the league, but it is the second fixture.

“Many things will happen this season. Hopefully we will win the game, but I would like to see the team better in many aspects from the game against Spurs.

“The distances between the lines. Our accuracy, not losing simple balls. The physical condition. Being aggressive in the final third. Defending against the transition. Defending set pieces.
