On this day in 2017 Manchester City beat Bournemouth 4-0 to secure a 17th consecutive win in the Premier League.
That remarkable run paved the way for Pep Guardiola’s first title triumph, and this was a performance which encapsulated everything that was good about a side that would scored 106 goals en route to achieving a record-breaking 100 points.
Sergio Aguero nodded City into a 27th minute lead before turning provider with a deft pass for Raheem Sterling to fire home a second.
The Argentine striker then converted another header from a David Silva cross to net City’s 100th league goal of 2017 and Danilo completed the scoring five minutes from time when he drilled into the bottom corner from Sterling’s through ball to net his first goal for the Club.
