Manchester City wishes a happy Diwali to all our fans around the world who are celebrating the Festival of Lights.
To mark the occasion, Sergio Aguero, Janine Beckie, Steph Houghton and Rodrigo recited a verse written by Rabindranath Tagore in his collection of poems, Gitanjali.
They were joined by Mumbai City’s Sergio Lobera and Hugo Boumous, as well PUMA ambassadors, actor and singer Harrdy Sandhu, World Amateur Boxing champion Mary Kom and nutritionist, strength and yoga trainer Nidhi Mohan Kamal.
Rabindranath Tagore was a poet, writer, composer, philosopher and painter from Bengal, India.
He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in November 1913 for the Gitanjali collection, which made him the first Indian and the first non-European to win the prize.
Gitanjali includes the poem, Light, which is the verse recited in the video above.
