Erling Haaland added a second shortly after to double the lead, with Ansu Fati pulling a goal back after 73 minutes.
Doku stressed the importance of the three points and hailed the mentality of the team.
“I’m happy with the result. After some difficult results we had in the past weeks. It’s important mentally and I hope we can keep going like this,” he said.
“It was very important. Not only for the table but jut for us in our heads. It was a difficult game but we’re a good team, the best team for me.
“We have to prove it every time we’re on the pitch. Today we did it.
“It wasn’t a 5-0 game, but 2-1. Some games are like this, difficult. But we kept on going even with 10 against 11 at the end.
“We showed we’re there. Mentality also. Aggressive. I’m happy about that.”
The Belgian also spoke about the instructions given to him by Guardiola for the game, touched on having the lethal duo Haaland and Alvarez alongside him in attack and spoke about the depth of the squad.
