A new documentary chronicling the life and career of Ederson is set to be released on CITY+.

The Brazilian’s story will be told in a self-titled three-part series which charts the 28-year-old’s journey from his earliest days in South America through to becoming one of the best goalkeepers in the world at Manchester City.

Episode one includes interviews with Ederson’s family and friends as we learn how he started out as a left-back, his futsal career, his time at hometown club Sao Paulo and the impact of the agonising phone call which confirmed his unexpected release.

A move to Portugal followed, where he spent three seasons at Benfica.

It was there that Ederson established himself as one of Europe’s hottest prospects and, in the second episode, we hear from former team-mate Julio Cesar and Rui Vitoria, the man who gave him his debut at the Lisbon giants, as well as City’s Director of Football Txiki Begiristain.

The final instalment focuses on the Brazilian’s influence at City and his life away from football.

Featuring interviews with the man himself, we also hear from the young goalkeepers he has inspired, who have started to replicate the playing style which has made him an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The first episode of Ederson is set to launch on Thursday 25 November, with the remaining two parts to be released one per week over the following fortnight.
