Goals from Josko Gvardiol (two), Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez secured the success at Craven Cottage which moved us back to the division’s summit with two matches remaining this term.
Accompanying our scintillating attacking play was heroic rearguard action which limited the hosts to one shot during the full 90 minutes as the Brazilian maintained his 11th league clean sheet this season.
And Ederson says Pep Guardiola’s side are playing with confidence at the business end of the term.
“A great game for the team. It was really difficult because today was so hot and the pitch after 25, 30 minutes is so dry,” he explained.
“I think the confidence and the mentality [helped us] win the game, congratulations to everyone for scoring four goals and for the clean sheet.
“It’s so important to defend good because some teams try to counter attack, but the team played good and keep the ball, take good touches, good finishes and a good result for today.
“It [the title race] is in our hands. We have two games left and we go away again in the next game. The team is so confident, focused and has the mentality to go again.”
