Elliot Anderson says he cannot wait to play in a Manchester derby.

Our new signing has highlighted our annual battles against cross-city rivals Manchester United as games he is most looking forward to.

“Yeah, it’s one of the biggest derbies in the world and for as long as I’ve known Manchester [football], City have been the Kings of Manchester,” said Anderson.

“It’ll be a great fixture, and I can’t wait to be involved in something like that.”

The England star also says he ready to embrace Manchester life and all our city has to offer, adding: “I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a lovely part of the country and my family and I will really enjoy this place.”

And when it comes to inspiration, Anderson says he has taken plenty from Club legend Kevin De Bruyne as his own career blossomed.

“I think Kevin De Bruyne is someone who I’ve hugely looked up to over the past seven or eight years,” he said.

“As I came up through the academy at Newcastle, I always wanted to play like him.

“I’ve watched him all the time and to be sat here in the same team he was doing it for is so special.”
