Enzo Maresca says he is excited to begin his Premier League journey with City on Sunday, starting with our clash against Bournemouth at the Etihad.

It will be the first time the Blues and our new manager feature in front of a home crowd since his appointment in June.

We take on the Cherries at 14:00 (UK) with Maresca and the squad eager to step out at the Etihad.

Despite it being a familiar venue for the Italian after being part of Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff in 2022/23, he reiterated in his Friday press conference what an honour it is for him to be leading the team out.

“Very excited. Very excited to start this new chapter, this new journey,” said Maresca.

“The target is to carry on in the same way as the last 10, 15 years. I’m also happy to finally play our first game at home. I’m excited.

“I said from day one I feel for me it’s a privilege to be here.

“It’s a huge club, huge organisation. I am convinced because of the players and because of the club and what we can do that we can achieve something important.

“It’s normal that it’s not something magic [instantly]. Day after day it’s something you need to build and we are going to build.”
