Erling Haaland became the quickest player to reach 50 Premier League goals with his opener in the 1-1 Etihad draw with Liverpool.

Haaland ran onto Nathan Ake’s precise through ball to blast home past Alisson and reach the major scoring milestone.

The striker, who signed for us in pre-season 2022/23, smashed the landmark in just his 48th game – 17 less than former strike ace Andrew Cole.

Other star names he’s surpassed on the list include Alan Shearer (66 games), Ruud van Nistelrooy (68 games), Fernando Torres (72 games) and Mohamed Salah (72 games), who led the line for the Reds in the game where Haaland broke the record.
