We welcome Everton to the Etihad Stadium on Boxing Day for our latest Premier League encounter.

Our clash with Sean Dyche’s side kicks off at 12:30 (UK), with both sides needing a win for different reasons.

We’ll be looking to arrest a difficult run of form that has seen us lose nine of our last 12 matches across all competitions and slip down the Premier League table.

City v Everton | Match preview

For Everton, victory would be all about adding extra breathing room between themselves and the sides in the relegation zone.

Ahead of this festive clash, we take a look back at some special previous home meetings with the Toffees.

First up is a beautiful curling strike from Mario Balotelli back in 2011 to set Roberto Mancini’s title-chasers on the way to three points.

Then we flash forward all the way to earlier this year, when Erling Haaland powered home a strike to settle nerves inside the Etihad. His celebration was an outpouring of relief!

Following that, there’s a slide tackle from Shaun Wright-Phillips on a teenage Wayne Rooney.

Finally, Sergio Aguero’s farewell match at the end of the 2020/21 campaign also saw us welcome fans back to the Etihad for the first time in 15 months and lift the Premier League title!
