Watch as City kept up our 100% start to the season courtesy of an Erling Haaland-inspired 4-1 victory over Ipswich.

Haaland bagged a hat-trick – his 10th treble for City – as Pep Guardiola’s champions notched up a comeback win in our 2024/25 Etihad bow.

Sammie Szmodics scored on his full debut for the Tractor Boys, squeezing his seventh minute shot through the legs of Ederson to give the visitors an unexpected lead.

But instead of shocking the players, it stirred them and the sky blues scored three goals in just over three minutes to turn the game on its head.

Haaland equalised with an expert penalty, given following a review into a foul on new boy Savinho.

The Brazilian then set up Kevin De Bruyne for the second, closing down goalkeeper Arijanet Muric and winning the ball before laying it into the path of the skipper who made no mistake in front of an empty net.

Haaland made it 3-1 moments later when he rounded Muric before firing home.

There were two moments of real magic in the second half, Ilkay Gundogan handed a hero’s welcome as he entered the fray as a second half substitute and then Haaland rounding off the scoring – and guaranteeing his hat-trick – with an classy finish from distance.
