That was emphatic and emotional verdict from City fans in the wake of Saturday’s unveiling of iconic statues in honour of Vincent Kompany and David Silva.
The final weekend of August 2021 marked an historic day for the Club, with the unveiling of our very first statues outside the Etihad Stadium - in tribute to our legendary former skipper and Spanish midfield maestro.
The pair will be remembered through the generations as two of the catalysts for City’s modern-day period of success. Symbolically, their unveiling was conducted at daybreak - the day of City’s 5-0 victory over Arsenal.

The statues (soon to be followed with a third for fellow legend Sergio Aguero) provide a visible reminder of the instrumental roles the pair have played and were created by award-winning sculptor Andy Scott, constructed using thousands of welded pieces of galvanised steel.
And as our video demonstrates, the two statues proved an immediate and resounding hit with all our supporters who were present to witness them for the first time at the Etihad on Saturday.
