Ahead of our quarter-final showdown with Borussia Dortmund, City captain Fernandinho sat down with CityTV to reflect on his Champions League history so far.

Since making his debut at the tender age of 20, the midfielder has gone on to make 106 appearances in Europe’s elite competition, including qualifiers, for Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk and City.

And the Brazilian will be hoping to reach the semi-finals for the second time in his career when we lock horns with Dortmund over two legs.

The skipper insists he and the players will not let the occasion pass them by, and that they can’t wait to get stuck in.

“We are currently on a good run of form, there’s no denying it,” he admitted.

“The last few months have been great for us, the quarter-final will be a special one for everybody.

“We have to prepare ourselves in the best way possible and try to get through to the semi-finals. I think that’s our main objective right now.

“These moments are so brief that they fly by, and if you don’t give your best you end up regretting it.

“Thankfully, I’ve never regretted anything  because I’ve always given my very best in every moment of my career.”
