We became Champions of the World thanks to a Julian Alvarez brace as well as a Phil Foden goal and an own goal from Fluminense defender Nino.
City 4-0 Fluminense | Match report
The success means we are the first English club ever to win the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in the same calendar year.
It took just 39 seconds to open the scoring in Jeddah when Alvarez reacted quickest to chest the ball home following a Nathan Ake strike that hit the post.
We survived a major scare in the 17th minute when German Cano looked to have earned a penalty, only for the offside flag to put City fans at ease again.
An own goal from Fluminense captain Nino doubled City’s lead soon after.
We added our third in the 71st minute when a neat move between Mateo Kovacic and Alvarez ended with the latter crossing for Phil Foden to poke home.
Alvarez added the gloss to the scoreline and sealed his Man of the Match award with a drilled finish in the closing stages.
All that was left to do was celebrate our first ever FIFA Club World Cup!
