Phil Foden expressed his delight after getting his name on the scoresheet for the first time this season in the 4-0 UEFA Champions League victory away to Slovan Bratislava.

Erling Haaland added a third shortly before the hour mark, before Foden’s clever pass found James McAtee, who blasted in his first goal for the Club.

Foden, who has been absent for large parts of this campaign due to injury and illness, was overjoyed with getting back into the starting team and producing a Player of the Match display.

“A good night for myself, obviously being back out there,” he said.

“It’s nice to score again, but more importantly just enjoying my football again. I’m delighted with the result and how I played.

“I’ve had a very slow start to the season with a bit of illness and a bit of fatigue.

“But, I’m getting back into it now and feeling more like myself.”
