Phil Foden was impressed with City's character and mentality after coming from a goal behind to win 3-1 at Goodison Park.

Jack Harrison had the hosts ahead at the break, before goals from Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva secured a comeback victory for Pep Guardiola‘s side.

The Goodison Park faithful were raucous throughout, but Foden was proud of how the team handled and overcame the hostility in Merseyside to come away with three precious points.

“Yeah it’s a very difficult place to come and they’re in form, Everton. They didn’t make it easy,” he said.

“But the manager says you don’t get the world champions badge for nothing. We had to pick ourselves up in the second half and I thought we were tremendous.

“The way we dealt with the game and handled ourselves under pressure at times was tremendous, so we’re delighted with the result.

“When I shot and it went in, we were back into the game and it gave us that push that we needed to go and win the game.”

The Academy graduate also spoke about his terrific goal, refelcted on hitting the post with a spectacular strike, and looked ahead to the clash with Sheffield United on Saturday.
