Phil Foden has revealed the pleasure, joy and excitement that City get from winning trophies after claiming FIFA Club World Cup glory for the first time with a 4-0 victory over Fluminense.

Foden scored one and assisted the own goal by Fluminense defender Nino, with Julian Alvarez netting a brace in the showpiece final at King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Saudi Arabia.

The victory secures our fifth trophy in 2023, making Pep Guardiola‘s side the first English club ever to win Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in the same calendar year.

“It’s so important for the club. It’s amazing to win all five as well,” said Foden.

“I’m playing with a special group of players. We kept going till the final whistle and gave everything we had.

“I think that’s me won everything now in England as well. I’m so delighted like I said. It’s all down to the team and the manager as well.

“It’s such a great side and we love winning trophies. It’s our first time we’re here and we want to do that again now and try and repeat what we’ve done.

“It’s been an unbelievable journey and we want to continue winning.”

The Englishman also revealed where this trophy ranks in his career, spoke highly of boss Guardiola and provided an insight into what drivers the team’s hunger for success.
