The 23-year-old produced a Man of the Match display at the Etihad Stadium to inspire us into the fourth round and after the game, he declared the seven-time winners’ determination to retain our crown.

“Not only me, but the team seems to love this competition,” he said. “It has a special feel.”

“You get a lot of different experiences playing against different sides. I think that’s why I love it as well.

“We want to go to the late stages again and try and win it again, why not?

“We’ve definitely got a side for that and a lot of quality players.”
