Phil Foden has ranked the first goal of his brace in the 3-1 Premier League victory over Manchester United as one of his best ever goals.

Marcus Rashford smashed the visitors ahead early on, but Foden stole the show after the interval in the 192nd Manchester derby.

Ten minutes after the break, Foden drilled into the top corner from 22 yards, before slotting us ahead with ten minutes left to play.

Erling Haaland coolly added a third in stoppage time to secure the points.

Foden now has five goals in his last two league Manchester derbies at the Etihad Stadium after last season’s hat-trick.

“Yeah I think this is a little bit better [than hat-trick] to be honest,” he said. “I think because of the situation we were in.

“We were 1-0 down. So I think this one means more to me.”

“Yeah, I think It’s up there, for sure,”  said Foden when quizzed if his first goal was one of the best out of his 78 total club career goals. “This one and my Liverpool one.

“It’s out of them two for me.”

The 23-year-old also spoke about the team’s overall performance and looked ahead to a busy month of fixtures.
