Phil Foden believes that City can take some positives from the 0-0 Premier League draw with Southampton.

The visitors were rigid, organised and determined at the Etihad Stadium to nullify Pep Guardiola‘s side and earn a point.

Foden made his league return from his long-term injury in the second half and injected some pace and energy into the side - almost helping City snatch all three points in the 90th minute, only to be denied by a fine save from Alex McCarthy.

The Englishman feels that despite not winning the game, the team can still have reason to be positive.

“I thought I won it at the end there with the goal, but VAR ruled it out, on another day we come away with the three points,” he reflected.

“Southampton made it difficult for us today. We just need to move on from it and look forward to the next game.

“Every Premier League game is very physical, we can still take positives from the game.

“We didn’t give up till the end and we gave everything. We need to keep that mentality into the next games.”

Foden also spoke about his road to recovery and his hopes for the rest of the season.
