Ahead of this weekend's meeting with Fulham at the Etihad Stadium, take a look back to a memorable day last season...

We welcome the Cottagers at 15:00 (UK) on Saturday 5 October, with Marco Silva’s side in a rich vein of form early in the campaign.

They have 11 points from their first six matches of the new term having won three times and scored eight goals along the way.

City have an extraordinary record against Fulham, winning our last 16 meetings with the West London outfit in the longest successful run for one side against another in English football history.

Last season that included a crucial 4-0 win at Craven Cottage in our 36th game of the term after a 5-1 win at home back in September 2023.

It’s the Etihad encounter we focus on here, when Erling Haaland netted his seventh treble in sky blue.

His first of the afternoon saw him become the quickest player to 40 Premier League goals.

Julian Alvarez had handed City the lead on the half hour, but the visitors replied almost instantly through Tim Ream.

Nathan Ake headed home on the stroke of half-time to restore our advantage, despite heavy protests from the Fulham players and coaching staff who felt Manuel Akanji had interfered from an offside position.

After the break, though, Haaland took centre stage to see City into the international break in style.

Look back on that game above...
