But what is our all-action striker’s go-to dish when he is relaxing back home in his native Brazil?

To find out, in the first episode of our Midea TasteTactics series, we asked Gabriel to reveal what he loves to eat the most when away from the pitch.

His choice of menu was rice, beans, steak and eggs – a favourite dish with many Brazilian workers.
