The Argentina international goalkeeper has signed from French club Marseille and penned a two-year contract, subject to international clearance, keeping him at the Etihad until the summer of 2028.
He arrives with a wealth of experience following a trophy-laden career so far which includes Europa League glory in 2020/21 before helping his nation to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2024 Copa America.
The 31-year-old has become the Club’s third summer signing since Maresca was appointed Manager ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
And Rulli is relishing the opportunity to work with the Italian as well as coaching staff cohort Willy Caballero and Michel De Bernardini.
“A lot [of excitement] when I received and heard they want me,” he explained.
“When I spoke with Michele [De Bernardin], the goalkeeper coach also, it was an easy decision to come.
“I also saw the team when he [Maresca] was at Chelsea, I really liked the style and how they prepare the games. In this moment I can’t wait to start with the team. To help and to win.
“[I’ve not spoken to them] yet. I know Willy, I remember the last time we spoke together.
“It’s really nice to have him in the staff and Argentinian also, a goalkeeper also.
“That will be easy for me to share some things, to ask. I’m really happy to be here and for also to share everything with the staff.”
“It means a lot [to have Caballero at City]. Because he’s Argentinian, also a goalkeeper and we have some things in common. It will be really nice to share the day-by-day with him.”
