Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan found the net after the interval before Grealish struck a fourth goal with 15 minutes left to play.

The Englishman was ecstatic with the overall team display. He said:

“It was a brilliant day. Obviously playing against Liverpool, they’re a very good team with very good players. I thought the way we performed was brilliant.

“I know what I’m capable of. Since I’ve been here there has been times when it has been difficult.

“But I know full well what I’m capable of once I’m playing with confidence and when I feel fit and strong, like I did today. I’ve played a lot of games recently which is what you want as a footballer. I feel good, man.

“It’s always nice to score and assist as a winger. But the main thing for me was the way we performed as a team and the victory we got today. I think it was so important.
