Pep Guardiola is delighted with Erling Haaland’s attitude although he doesn’t agree with the striker’s assessment that he needs to do more.

City had a difficult afternoon at Aston Villa as our run of disappointing results continued with a 2-1 defeat in the early kick-off.

Speaking after the match, the Norwegian said he felt that he needs to work harder.

Guardiola liked his desire to want to improve but said he needs the ball in dangerous areas and that City would be a lot worse off without his performances.

“I do not agree with him,” the boss said. “Without him we would be even worse but I like it when the players feel that way. That’s the only chance we have to get even better.

“He needs to be delivered the ball in the right positions. We move forward and fight for the next one.”
